Pinot Grigio
Pronounced: Pee-no Gree-gee-oh
"This Italian grape variety is sexy"
The Ferrari of white, Italian grape varieties.
Pinot Grigio is an Italian grape variety that grows very well in
Australia's warm climate, creating wines of not only great
drinking, but excellent for matching with food. This wine shows
classic characters of nashi pear, green apples and floral notes
with a hint of pineapple, but better still, it makes you feel like
you've made a little trip to Italy when you drink it. Without the
long haul flights.
- Aroma:
- Nashi pears, white peach and granny smith apples.
- Flavour:
- This Pinot Grigio displays juicy pear, green apple juice and subtle floral notes with just a hint of pineapple. It is concentrated but with enough acidity to keep the wine very lively. Serve with prawn linguini, vegetable soup or ginger and shallot steamed fish.
Pinot Grigio is an indigenous grape variety found originally in Italy.
Food! Especially Italian accented meals. You know you want to!
