Kick up your tail at the 2012 JAYCO Tamworth Country Music Festival

Country music lovers are invited to kick up their tails and join a record-breaking attempt for Australia's longest line dance at the 40^th annual 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival. The event will take place on Peel Street at 8am on Saturday 28 January - just before the cavalcade.

Heard it on the grape vine

The growing season in Australia is off to a cracking start and the vines are flourishing. A cool start to Spring eased the vines out of Winter, and then a bout of warm weather spurred on flowering rapidly. Canopies are a healthy bright green and mild weather forecast over the coming weeks will ensure berries will form well. Warning: One look at the vines may lead to wine cravings.

Meet Bubbles, our [yellow tail] Kombi

Our new [yellow tail] Kombi affectionately named 'Bubbles' has hit the road to visit some new friends and sample wine at the hottest festivals and events throughout Australia.

'Bubbles' is more than just your everyday backpackers mobile. It has been fitted with modern refrigeration systems to keep the wine cool and fresh and the side and back panels of the bus fold out into a trendy outdoor wine bar.

Staying at the forefront of technological advancements, [yellow tail] has introduced a re‐sealable closure that helps to keep Bubbles and Bubbles Rosé fresher for longer. A refreshing pop escapes the bottle each time it is opened and a satisfying fizz can be enjoyed with every glass.

We've had exciting news! [yellow tail] has just been named the most powerful Australian wine brand in the world by independent British consultancy, Intangible Business! Each year, they evaluate the popularity and sales success of more than 10,000 beer, wine and spirits brands to rank the top 100 in the The Power 100 report. [yellow tail] was ranked number 37 overall and was named 'Most Powerful' out of other Aussie wine brands available globally. Bring on the Bubbles - we're in the mood to celebrate!

From vine to wine

Our winemakers are currently processing tonnes of grapes for the 2011 wine vintage at the family estate in New South Wales. Plenty of rain and some hot weather in the Riverina region over summer prompted an early and speedy harvest for our local white varieties. Harvest for white grapes from cooler regions of Australia commenced later. Red varieties will remain on the vine until late-March/early-April, soaking up the sun and developing rich and ripe flavours. Quality of fruit is excellent and we look forward to another good vintage for [yellow tail] this year. The winery expects to process between 160,000-180,000 tonnes of grapes before May 2011.

Doing our bit to help conserve the environment

Did you know that 100% of the waste water from [yellow tail]'s winery is recycled? The $5 million Mt Bingar project has the capacity to recycle 400 million litres of water per annum. That's the equivalent of 160 Olympic swimming pools!  This great engineering and design achievement is part of [yellow tail]'s broader environmental strategy which includes recycling all waste cardboard, plastic and glass and converting all vehicles to LPG.
