- Dress the part. Ensure you look like a million bucks and you are comfortable in your own house. Don't over do it either. Effortless is best.
- Prepare personalised place settings. Label the table so everyone gets a seat next to someone interesting. Write in pen on the serviettes or prepare some personalised glassware ornaments to identify who is sitting where.
- Get the right tunes. Thrash metal and banging hip-hop probably won't help your [yellow tail] Cabernet and slow cooked meats. Think about a playlist of slow jams, jazz, old rock n roll or classical music instead.
- Make the bathroom pretty. New people to the house will appreciate a candle, some air freshener and a little bit of tidiness.
